GALLERY 410 at 410 N. EUTAW ST.
In a moment when identity, visibility, and cultural ownership are at the center of national conversation, ‘Hairarchy’ at Gallery 410 (410 N. Eutaw st.) confronts the politics of hair as both personal expression and public declaration. Through painting, sculpture, and immersive adornment, artist Liz Miller transforms hair into monument—examining beauty, power, race, femininity, and resilience within urban Black life. ‘Hairarchy’ asks viewers to consider how something as intimate as hair can carry generations of history, resistance, and pride, making this work urgently relevant in a time when bodies, identities, and self-definition remain deeply contested.
